URBIZ, Urban Ecology web portal

Between 2009 and 2011, GREENVIBES has designed and published URBIZ, the 1st web portal dedicated to URBAN ECOLOGY inventoring good practices through technical factsheets covering all major subjects (water, energy, green procurement, mobility, biodiversity...) alonside a publication watch listing technical documents and guides on this topic and freely available on the internet.

Only a few months after its launch, URBIZ was announced as a finalist in 2 categories of the Internet "Trophées de la Construction et de l'Immobilier 2009", organised by BatiActu : "Best site dedicated to Sustainable Development" and "Best site - Project Management Assistance".

However, this work was carried out alongside our business activities and by 2011, it began to be difficult for our team to update the site regularly. We thus decided to put an end to Urbiz at the end of this same year, until we find a better solution.

GREENVIBES se charge de votre veille sectorielle relative à un large panel de thématiques environnementales. Notre rigueur scientifique et notre connaissance des différentes sources à disposition vous garantissent l'exactitude et la fiabilité des données. Nous ne fournirons JAMAIS de données non référencées et vérifiables. Selon vos besoins, notre veille peut s'appuyer sur des sources anglophones (nos experts parlent tous couramment anglais, y compris un anglais technique) ou exploiter quelques unes de nos sources référencées régulièrement mises à jour (plusieurs milliers de sites web et documents couvrant la plupart des thématiques environnementales). Nous étudions également la presse spécialisée et participons à divers évènements et conférences en rapport.

URBIZ, 1st web portal dedicated to Urban Ecology: site que nous avons édité entre 2009 et 2011, avec pour objectif de recenser les bonnes pratiques sous forme de fiches techniques multi-thématiques (eau, énergie, achats éco-responsables, déplacements, biodiversité…) et d'assurer une veille documentaire.
VEILLE EN THERMOGRAPHIE INFRAROUGE: nous réalisons une veille pour l'AFTIB (Association Française de Thermographie Infrarouge), dans le cadre de l'édition de sa newsletter (voir notre rubrique "publications"). Il s'agit prioritairement d'identifier les nouvelles applications de cette technologie, usitée dans un nombre croissant de disciplines.
VEILLE RELATIVE AUX PRATIQUES DURABLES EN HOTELLERIE: nous travaillons en collaboration avec des prestataires hôteliers haut de gamme (incluant également des spas hôteliers), qui ont adopté des démarches respectueuses de l'environnement.

GREENVIBES is a French consultancy founded in 2008 by two associates working closely with a network of experts and French/foreign partners. They all have in common the capacity to quickly build bridges between various issues and disciplines playing an active part in sustainable policy implementation. In addition, they have all been trained and have a thorough expertise in particular subjects (Urban Planning, Ecology, Communication, Legal aspects...), enabling a professional dialogue with specialists.

ANGELIE BARAL - Founder and Managing Director
Master of Science in Environmental Technology (2001), Imperial College London

Trained as an Ecologist, Angelie BARAL has a particular expertise on la Environmental monitoring, writing books for the general public, recommendation guides and audit methodologies for major companies (Veolia, Lafarge Biodiversity Index…) , and Project management, monitoring and evaluation. She has especially monitored actions in communication, result dissemination and networking of LIFE projects in different countries for the European Commission, as well as the scientific and technical evaluation of French LIFE projects. Besides, she has carried out several AEU (Environmental Assessment of Urban Planning) for local municipalities.

Angélie BARAL is also a columnist for the l’Express magazine and a blog editor since 2005 with "Gestes Environnement" (An action a day for the Environment), which has become a reference on the internet.

HARI BARAL - Associate Director
Architect & Urban Planner, 30 years of experience in Project management, monitoring and evaluation, particularly linked to infrastructure development and water resource management.

He is regularly commissioned by the United Nations and the European Commission among others, to work in Asia (Saudi Arabia, India, Bengladesh, Laos) and Africa (Gabon, Senegal). He frequently takes part in various projects' evaluation and monitoring for the European Commission (ASIA-URBS, ASIA PRO ECO, LIFE ENVIRONNEMENT, ACP-EU Water Facility programmes...). He is also reguglarly appointed by international organisations (UNESCO, World Road Association…) in the framework of poverty reduction ans public empowerment in sustainable development.

Hari BARAL was Vice president of ISOCARP (global association of professional planners) from 1997 to 2003. He is a member of, among others, the European Council of Spatial Planners, the American Planning Association and the UNESCO Joint Programme Commission on Poverty.
